Swedish Butter Cookies

Saturday I made Swedish Butter Cookies for a friend and neighbor.
This is one of my fav recipes because it's so very quick and simple.  And yummy!
Cookies don't have to be only for the holidays!

Here's the recipe ~ It's from the Taste of Home Contest Winning Cookbook~ http://www.tasteofhome.com/recipes/Swedish-Butter-Cookies
Give it a try and let me know if you like it as much as I do!

Thank you so much for the cookies! Unfortunately, I ate way too many and totally blew my Weight Watchers points for the day (or month!). These are definitely my newest favorite cookie. Now, please see if you can make them diet worthy. ;-)

Cindy- last night I had to make another batch for myself! And I ate way too many! Randy kept saying he thought they were straight butter, but he still ate them! They're addictive - you can't just have one!!! Now I'm trying to avoid them. I walk by them and pretend I don't see them, but I know they are there, calling me!!! I'm going to try to go all day without having one! :)

Cookies and butter, two of my favourite things!

I know how those cookies can 'lure' you to have another. Thanks for the recipe!

Yummm...that looks like my kind of recipe! I will definitely give them a try. Just one quick question - the recipe says to make a log...but the cookies are flat? I assume they flatten the log out before baking? Can't wait to give these a try!

I LOVE those kind of cookies! But I am doing weight watchers too. ~ Nice to dream about though!

@Shim Farm: I thought the same thing when I read the recipe. I assume (and Lynn, correct this if I'm wrong) when the logs bake, they flatten on their own...sort of like when a mound of cookie dough flattens as it cooks. Being 150% butter they have to melt a little!

Nat - mine, too!!!!

Nancy - Hope you enjoy them as much as I do!

Shim Farm - The log flattens out as it bakes. It's all butter! I made skinny logs - I think the recipes says to make 8 logs. I put 2 on a cookie sheet and make about 6 logs out of the dough.

Barb - I'm sorry you cant enjoy these goodies!! I've been on a fruit and veggie diet and have been doing very well with it. But I do cheat and have sweets! I can't help it! As long as I work out I figure I can cheat. I think Randy's tired of all the veggies, though! :)

Cindy - Yep, you're right, they are like 150% butter! Yummmm!!!
