Recently Randy built a single story saloon building for some friends down the street. It's a one-room building which looks like an old western saloon - complete with the tin roof! They plan on using it as a entertainment room - sort of an extension of their house with a wild wild west theme.
I loved how it looked and thought it deserved a post on the blog, even though it doesn't really have to do with our property! I can just picture a cowboy coming out of this saloon with a drink in his hand after a long day of robbing banks and riding horses.

Oh my gosh I love it!!! I want one!!! How cooool is that! :)
where is the shuttered door?
That is so cute, what a great idea, yes, I agree it needed its own post.:)
Great job...I'll have a milk, please.
Very impressive building! Congrats to Randy! He probably would enjoy talking to Nick about his shed he made with no nails. Japanese style!
Cindy - I'll tell Randy you want one!!!
John Gray - I asked Randy your question, he smiled. He had plans of putting up the shuttered doors mounted to the 4x4's which are to the sides of the front door. But it didn't work out. Oh well, if he builds another for someone he'll def have to add shuttered doors.
Farm Girl - Thanks!
Gail - Coming right up! I'll slide it down the bar!
Barb - I told Randy about Nick's shed. He asked if wooden pegs were used in the place of nails?

Wow, some people are so talented. Nothing can keep Americans down, they are so ingenious.
As long as you don't have to be the saloon girl. :)
Very cool building and idea.
Awesome!!! I can already hear all the fun they're gonna have with that treasure!
Chai Chai - My husband does very good work when he puts his mind to it! :-) I've got to give him the praise because he's such a hard worker!
CeeCee - no saloon girl here!!!
Weldrbrat - they started enjoying it right away!

That is VERY cool. Lee wants to know if Randy installed break-a-way windows for those exciting saloon brawls? :)
Nope. No break-away windows! lol.
I love the saloon! I actually found this page searching diy saloons. My wife and I are thinking about doing something very similar. Can you maybe give me an estimate of how much this building cost? We're trying to figure out whether it would be better to build it ourselves from the ground up or to buy one of those Tuff Shed things and make modifications. Thanks!
do you know about how much it cost to build? also, could you post more pictures of it, i am wanting to build one just like that in the woods behind my house and need as much to go by as i can get. Thanks and great work!!
