Broken Trees and Little Deer

Following the Blizzard of 2010, many tree limbs around our house have broken off because of the weight of the snow.  This is just one of many trees in our backyard.

Spring cleanup time will soon be here.  Meanwhile, the deer have enjoyed the cedar branches on the ground.

Speaking of deer, I noticed today the deer herd that has been wintering in our backyard has left, at least for the day, but Little Deer stayed behind.  He stayed by our barn and in our backyard by himself.  He even came right up to the house to check the bird feeder area.  It's funny how he seems to always stay in our yard, even when the others leave.  There are other fawns in the herd who aren't much bigger than him, but Little Deer is not afraid to stay alone.  He's my Little Deer.

I have been going around picking up branches that have come down this winter. I still have more to do. That is a cute picture of the little deer.

Awwww, Little Deer is adorable. Sounds like Mother Nature provided the deer with yummy eats from the broken branches. I wonder if Little Deer will hang out for a long time and we can all watch him grow up. Hang in there, Spring will arrive before we all know it. :)

What a strange winter we are experiencing here in the East. Snow has been replaced with rain and sleet. Love the photo of your sweet little deer, hope you have the opportunity to watch him/her grow into adulthood.

When I was growing my uncle and aunt had a pet deer named Johnny. He was more a dog than a deer. I could even ride him. One fall some stupid hunter shot him even though he had a orange 'jacket' sewed onto him for safety.

Enjoy Little Deer, he is a gift from God.

At least those falling branches aren't falling on things like buildings or vehicles. Very sweet about Little Deer. Interesting that he likes to stay so close.
