Is it dinnertime yet?

Jerry is officially our barn cat.  He has claimed us for good.  It's not just a come up when he feels like it or when he's famished thing.  He belongs with us now.  He lives out in our barn.  He comes up for food twice a day.  Often all we have to do is call him & he comes running for breakfast (any food that we put up at nighttime is eaten by the coons, so Jerry has to wait to be fed in the mornings).  Sometimes he sleeps on the chairs on our front porch.  He never sprays/marks around our porches or outside chairs, even though he's a tom-cat.  Usually during the days he's around the house somewhere, under the lily plants, or resting in the shade under a car, or hunting birds by our birdfeeders (he still likes to watch birds, even though they aren't his prime source of food anymore).  He hunts all the mice & other small critters around the yard.  From now on I am officially saying he's my outside cat.

I like cats now that I have one. Though he is the granddaughter's cat. I think they are neat animals in need of an education on eating.

Thanks for helping me to make history.

Jerry is a beauty! Barn cats are a special breed, arent' they? What a blessing to be adopted by an angel wrapped in fur. Good things will surely follow.

I love the photo of him next to his food dish. I can just imagine him holding a knife in one paw and a fork in the other.

Blessings,
Carolynn

Sue - I'm not sure he'll be coming into the house - we've offered, but for the past year Jerry's been keeping his distance. I think he was abused & is afraid of people.

Abe - Yeah, before he married me, my husband said he'd never like cats, but he's come around, too.

Carolynn - that pic of Jerry in front of his food dish made me laugh, too! He eats the dry food, but if he can, he waits for us to spoil him with canned food. On that day he was waiting impatiently for canned food.
