A few weeks ago I posted some pictures, but never told the story behind them. A few people asked about the stories that I forgot to post. I have been very busy with the day job, the guinea keets and chicks, the guinea homicides, and with baking. There for a while, my blogging was slowing down. I had to get my priorities in order!!
The baby bunny story is very simple.
Once upon a time, Little Bunny was out playing in the back yard. He was having such a good time playing that he didn't realize he wandered too far away from his home in the brush and stick pile. Suddenly, Little Bunny looked around, and he couldn't see his home anymore! He mama was nowhere to be found! He started hopping as fast as he could, but he couldn't find home. Little Bunny was lost. His mama told him stories about the monsters that lived in the woods. She always told him never to go into the woods, as it wasn't safe for Little Bunny.
Then, out of nowhere, Little Bunny was picked up by Randy. Little Bunny screamed, for he thought Randy was a big bad monster. Randy explained that he was the keeper of the farm and the overseer of all things at Razzberry Corner, and that Little Bunny was safe with him. And so, Randy returned Little Bunny to his home in the brush pile, and he was safe for another day.

Nat - Little Bunny was very easy to pick up. He didn't try to run at all until after he was picked up. But, boy, did he scream! I didn't know rabbits screamed like that!

I am very glad that Randy was a good guy and put him back, though I might want to keep that sweet little bunny. He is better with his momma.

What an adorable bunny. But now I need to know more! Was mommy there waiting for Baby Bunny? Or did she go off looking for him and give up and never come back?
How tiny, I don't believe I have ever seen a rabbit so small. Glad to know he was reunited with his mother. Thank you Randy. How is the racoon situation going? I do hope you can catch whoever/whatever is doing in your fowl. Greeting from Maine, Julie.
Farm Girl - I considered keeping the bunny, but only for a second. I just don't have the time or knowledge to take care of a baby bunny.
CAGrammy - I actually never saw the mommy rabbit. I think she was killed by a fox. That part didn't make it into my fairytale story! :)
Julie - the guinea monster is still out there. It's awful. 3 guineas are left alive, out of 10. My heart is broken. My prayer is that those 3 live thru this week. Poor babies. Randy has been sleeping in a chair outside with a shotgun. He's exhausted, and he hasn't caught the monster yet. It seems the monster knows when he's there. Once he came in at 1am and slept the rest of the night inside, and sure enough, the monster killed a guinea after he came in. It's watching him. It's a really tough situation. This is what happens when we start up a farm out in the wild woods. The wild animals were here first, then we arrived with dinner for them.
