I guess it's much easier when they're younger. We spay and neuter all feral cats who make their way to our farm. They are then welcome to live in our barns, and they usually do. You cat is beautiful and has such a sweet face.Patricehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09073900183291544491noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6390619032396490344.post-59282904906620385912012-08-14T13:54:08.737-04:002012-08-14T13:54:08.737-04:00My 2 cents' worth: Keep trying. I hope he can stay inside, but I understand you have other indoor cats. Good luck with him.Shim Farmhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18148782353052767022noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6390619032396490344.post-32584741383137143362012-08-14T11:09:24.090-04:002012-08-14T11:09:24.090-04:00He's a beautiful cat, and it was good of you t...He's a beautiful cat, and it was good of you to take him in and have him vetted! I have the largest cat you have ever seen but you wouldn't as he has lived under my bed for six years. He comes out when it is just family but he is so neurotic. When I am outside I come in and every cabinet door in the house is open.
So it may be the same way, I think what ever happened that they can't tell you about is just apart of the personality. I feel so sorry for him. I am glad you have given him such a good home. He is a beautiful kitty. Maybe with time he will be normal. I only have one cat that wasn't feral. Now that I am thinking about it. They all act okay now but it was hard going in the beginning. They all still have some kind of issue which makes them unique. :)Farm Girlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00998621464797636686noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6390619032396490344.post-42051455424255001202012-08-14T06:47:21.642-04:002012-08-14T06:47:21.642-04:00Whew! We've taken in two feral cats (black) and both have taken very well to house life but still LOVE to go outside (when I let them). Then there's the current feral cat (black again, imagine that....what is it with black cats???) and he's really, really shy. Been working on him for over two months and he still wont come closer than 5' to me and that's with me calling him for food or milk.
Good luck with Benji, he seems such a sweetie :)Carolynhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14436557172029575513noreply@blogger.com
